Trackstar the DJ summarized this situation the best via Facebook so, I’m just going to use his words:
“During my time in L.A., the best thing I did was get involved with a youth group called Sessions LosAngeles run by a handful of great people headed by Bambu DePistola and Phatrick Huang…if you know me from STL you probably know about the Center for Recording Arts…this is very similar, but with more students, more instructors, and more social and political content…VERY dope and important program. Their funding was cut and they need to raise money to continue providing programming to the 20 or so youth they serve. If you can comfortably do so, please donate to their campaign–any amount helps. If you can’t, maybe pass the link on to someone who can’t…thanks. Sorry for the long post, peace… besides just teaching the youth life skills and giving them musical instruction, Sessions also provides a safe place for them to spend time without worrying about the crazy streets they live in…this is so important and a piece of the puzzle we often forget…just wanted to add that…carry on…”
So, there you have it. If you can donate, awesome (click here). If not, please pass the link along so Sessions LA has a greater chance of receiving the funds necessary to continue shaping a positive future in their community.
