RFT: Tef Poe On What The Scene Needs…

“Dear St. Louis: it’s not 1961. The Jim Crowe era is over. I think the hip-hop community is currently fighting to prove we can compete with the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Jay Cole, Curren$y, and Jay Electronica. In the hip-hop world our city is known more so for club/party music. There’s nothing wrong with that, but people are starting finally realize there can only be one Nelly.” – Tef Poe

The above is just a tiny sample of the interview Kiernan Maletsky of the Riverfront Times recently had with Tef. For the complete story click here.

Tef Poe & Rockwell Knuckles & SuperJam 4

Rockwell Knuckles was invited to perform at this year’s SuperJam 4 and brought his Prestige Worldwide partner, Tef Poe with him. Kiernan Maletsky has written a pretty good (and hilarious) article about the whole event over at the RiverfrontTimes.com. Here is a snippet of the article below:

“Waka Flocka Flame, who is one actual album and three years into his career, is your hysteria-inducing, panty-dropping, totally uncontested king of Super Jam Four. And he didn’t even headline — that honor went to Ludacris, perhaps because neither Waka Flocka nor Wiz Khalifa (the second-biggest draw) actually have enough material to justify an hour-long set. But let’s not get confused: A teenage girl looked me in the eye and then elbowed me in the dick to prevent me from moving past her to the photo pit during Waka’s set.” Click here to read more.

You may even discover an artist or two you enjoy and aren’t yet familiar with. Last year’s showcase was a blast and this one should be too – don’t miss out!

Don’t forget to VOTE for St. Louis’ best music as well!

And check back at the Riverfront Times as they are still confirming even more acts for the showcase.
