Fuck a fancy album cover… Trackstar The DJ is taking it back to MSPaint! All jokes aside… this is what Trackstar has been playing on repeat for a minute now. If you aren’t familiar with Trackstar The DJ, he tends not to listen to music that sucks… and definitely not on repeat. So, you’d be well advised to download/stream this offering from the man because you know it’s only a matter of time until he’s on to the next project. All those fitted caps don’t come cheap. Unique Squared & Quality Control in association with 2DopeBoyz & DJBooth.net parked a massive tour bus on Austin’s streets to serve as a state of the art recording studio. Throughout the event some notable emcees stopped by the Mobile Studio to record exclusive tracks. The Official SXSW Mixtape is the final result: 30 tracks capturing the energy and creativity of SXSW.

There Is No America, There Is No Democracy
We just got this dope new video from Skipp Coon entitled “4.28.1967 Pt. 2″ and it features David Banner & Luca Brazi (who?). Visually stimulating? Eh, maybe not. But, the video reminds us of a fact the mainstream has lost grasp of… Words mean something. So, what better subject matter to focus the video on that the words? Especially when those words deliver a message. Watch, listen, read, and learn as this trifecta try to bring you up on knowledge…
SXSW: 2nd Entry
Day Two. Wake up, eat a whack free breakfast. Get fresh, pack up the necessities, secure our parking, meander around Austin.
First, we hit the Grand Ol’ Party to see Vandalyzm wreck the stage early, eat some free tacos, drink some free organic tea. Van got the day jumpin’ off right with a great full-energy show after literally hopping off the plane and heading directly to the venue.
Afterward, we hit up the Iron Cactus for some drinks/brunch, did some impromptu networking with some chillin’ dudes from Machinima.com. Headed back to Peckerhead’s where I learned why everyone told me that it would be a make-shift homebase while in Austin.
Then, after some schedule adjustments, we met up with Perry Stein from Wash U., who was down at SXSW to write an article for the Post-Dispatch. Headed back inside Peckerhead’s to catch some more dope hip-hop and next thing you know – it’s go time for Tef’s street shots thanks to some hustling by Adrian @ SYGU. Got a good energy from the people who stopped to see what we were up to and handed out some free hard copies of War Machine to the spectators.
Man, you know it was time to eat next! I’m hongry! We hitup Chupacabra, where I satisfied my pork craving with a pulled-pork burrito. However they smoked this pork… it was magic. The entire burrito was damn near perfect.
Stomach on full, we headed to the notorious Fader Fort. Everything in that joint is free. Free popcorn, cotton candy, wifi, stickers, drinks, ping pong… it is pretty much THE CHILL SPOT for SXSW. I got in just in time to catch Wiz Khalifa. The crowd was bananas.
What to do next? Oh, how about we walk across the entire span of Austin, TX? … and back? Yep. Did that shit. Went across town, on foot… walkin’ in the middle of streets that weren’t closed. Why? We from St. Louis… we have 20 or more people mobbing with us… we do what we want. We walked across town to see Wu-Tang perform only to be told that if we hadn’t paid the exorbitant amount of money for an official wristband, we either weren’t getting in or had to cough up $25/person. Bitch, we out here walkin’ (back to 6th St).
Arrived back at Peckerhead’s where they had now designated one room for a dance party and the other to straight hip-hop. You know which room we were in. Stalley and Yelawolf closed out the night. After meeting Stalley earlier but, missing his show… I was glad to get a chance to see him again later. Sadly, for me, I did not have the patience to deal with the hoards of drunks and bounced before Catfish Billy hit the stage… from what I’ve heard it was awesome.
